Media Meditation #3 Creativity & Technology at its finest!!??!! Welcome our "Sixth Sense"

Who said you can't have brains and creativity all in one

creativity and Brains at work

Pranav Mistry is a very intelligent individual who has done much research and development. He is currently a research assistant and PhD candidate at the MIT media lab. The development of the SixthSense is an amazing invention and could be the future of the world. Appearing on TEDPranav showed how technology is changing. He showed his thought process and how the SixthSense would work. Who would have thought you could have a computer, camera, phone (Etc.) all in one place, but also have a big enough screen for your every desire. Now the iPhone 4 has most everything, but what the iPhone and other smart phones lack is screen large enough to view happily.
How about with video games and watches!

We could probably all agree that this type of technology is simply amazing. But could we believe that this is going to be open source? That is that the directions will supposedly going to be released to the public. Some awards that Pranav received were the 2009 Invention Reward from Popular Science and the 2009 young inventor under 35 award from Technology Review. This invention could be the future of technology. The idea, and the thoughts are simply amazing. The first couple times i watched these videos i was speechless, other than saying "whatttt!", or"holy shit!". The awe factor really got the best of me.

Media Meditation #2 Superstars to Allstars, Bieber to Griffin?

    Celebs, Allstars, High-flyers, and popstars

The 2011 NBA AllStar weekend kick off on Friday starting off with the NBA Celebrity Game.

Who knew that Justin Bieber could play basketball? I don't even think he knew! But he still needs to work on that jump shot. However the fans somehow decided to choose him as the MVP of the night! The Celebrity game was interesting but not completely entertaining! They are mostly actors, make it funny if you cant play! Haha but overall it was..interesting..

The Dunk contest was the best in many years. Here is a slow motion dunk from Demar Derozan,

Bieber, Trey Songs, Romeo Miller (beautyheelsandsports.blogspot.com)

    Slow Motion air up there

Here we got one guy, two 10 foot hoops, two balls, one jump, and 2 dunks... Now this dunk may not have been perfect, but damn he deserved a perfect score for creativity, difficulty and presentation!

    Incredible 2 dunk 1 jump

This guy is getting a lot of looks, being a rookie and everything...after this dunk his arm was all black and blue, having many blood vessels popped!!

Blake Griffin puts his arm through the rim

The dunk that got most of the hype was that of Blake Griffin's, check it out!

    Dunking over automobiles

Other than the the actually playing of basketball there was a pretty good performance during halftime.
Rihanna, Drake, and Kanye West, put on an awesome performance, check it out!

    Halftime performance

Over all the All Star weekend was pretty fun to watch. There was a rookie challenge, skills competition, celebrity game, dunk contest, 3 point competition, and the actual All Star Game. Quickly I wanna chat about on particular play in this game. Kobe Bryant and Lebron James are arguably the two best players in the NBA. There has been much talk about both of them being the next "Michael Jordan", or who's better than who. They both always go at each other when they can. The following video shows both players, Lebron James tries to block Kobe as he goes to the hoop.
    Kobe flushes it!

Thanks for checking out my bog!

Media Meditation #1 Superbowl Sunday, Wasn't completely super ;-)

Pittsburgh vs. Green Bay or Christina vs. Black Eyed Peas?

Whether it’s on blogs, Facebook, Myspace, or Twitter it seems like everyone is chatting about last nights Superbowl game. The Pittsburgh Steelers played the Green Bay Packers in the most meaningful football game of the year. To say the least it seems as though the teams didn’t need to go practice more! With Pittsburgh having two quick turnovers, which both led to touchdowns no wonder they lost. However you have to give props to Green Bay’s defense. Other than the game, Superbowl Sunday is usually known for three other things, Opening, Commercials, and the Halftime show.

Lets quickly discus the National Anthem performed by Christina Aguilera.

Christina Aguilera singing the National Anthem, she seemed a little embarrassed!

First off I want to say that I am aware that no one is perfect, I am aware that people make mistakes. However, You would think someone of that caliber, being comfortable on stage singing the National Anthem would have it down pack. Now I’m sure it just slipped her mind, but being on national television you have to be able to stick it out.

The next let down was the Half time show.

      Black Eyed Peas Half time....show?

Now most people can say that the Black Eyed Peas are a great band and great performers. That is why they have had many may top songs and records. However, they may need to get new audio workers. The sounds were horrid. They would’ve had an awesome half time show, with Slash playing guitar, and Usher falling from the sky and dancing, it was set up to be amazing. The next thing was lights going out on the stage. Towards the end of the performance the stage was suppose to read “LOVE” however some of the lights for the “V” were out. Again I do realize sometimes there are technical difficulties, but at the SuperBowl! I do want to point out something Interesting from the performance. In the video at 9:39 Will I AM starts a verse in the song “Where is the Love”. This verse was not the original verse, this was something that he made up for this concert, giving a speech directed at the President and the people, to get “educated”.

The commercials this year were actually pretty good!

      House showing his soft side!

      Manly men chew snickers!!!

This commercial was pretty good using comedy to sell snickers!

Even Eminem got into this years commercials!

      Eminem getting back on TV

Even though I’m sure Eminem got about 3 Chrysler cars for doing this commercial I’m sure he just gave them away, he’s got to have like a Range Rover, or Rolls Royce or something!

      Paperback to Digital....Nintendo to Xbox

My name Is Evan Branon and I am from Fairfield Vermont, a small town in the Northern part of the state. As far as my ‘fun media experience’ this vacation, I had a realization for our family business. With today’s technology it is becoming essential to use media and technology for efficiency. Without explaining a lot of our business we will soon have to set up cameras with the ability to access the content online through ones cell phone. It is something that will be essential for the progression and efficiency with our business. It boggles my mind the progression that our society has made with media and technology. What I love about the 21st century is the connectivity we have. Being able to stay in touch in a split second is amazing! My professional goal at this point in my life is to own and run my own business.

Here is an interesting article on the Digital Age I found the other day!

Growing up i remember the original Nintendo!! This very basic old school game system was so cool growing up! It is amazing things have changed so much that we have change from something basic like this to things more complex....like an Xbox 360. With an Xbox one can go online and play vs some other individual completely across the world!
